Conservative Christianity
in a Spirit of Grace

We are so glad that you are considering a visit to Twin City Bible Church. We want you to truly enjoy your time with us. That’s why we’ve provided some information about our location, services, parking, childcare, and opportunities here at TCBC.

At TCBC we want you to feel at home; to be part of the family. You’ll be surrounded by a caring, loving family of friends who will help you and your family grow, hurt when you are hurting, and help you shoulder the tough times. God calls us to serve one another.  There are a number of ways you can do that through the ministries at TCBC.  Some ministries are focused on the community and others serve the needs of the church family. Whether you’re a large family or a family of one, we invite you to see what our family is all about. We want to come alongside you on your spiritual journey.  If you have any questions or need more information, please know that our doors are always open.

Will everyone know I’m a visitor?

While we do our very best to promote an intimate church setting, it’s hard to know absolutely everyone.  Rest assured, you won’t stand out like a sore thumb and we won’t embarrass you in any way.

 Where do I park?

Ample and convenient parking is available for all visitors. One visitor actually called our parking lot a “sea of asphalt”. You should easily find a convenient spot. Feel free to take a spot up close. Many members park in the lower lot in order to leave “a short walk” for others. We  have parking spots designated for new/expectant mothers, the elderly and the physically challenged as well.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code to attend our services. Some of our church members wear their “Sunday best”, some dress casual and comfortable; you make the call.  We want to exalt Christ and wish for you to feel comfortable in our services.  Don’t stress too much about what to wear, we care more about you than your clothes. We simply encourage modesty as proclaimed in I Tim. 2.

Will I feel uncomfortable attending alone?

We hope not. Many of our members come to Church by themselves each week. However, if you’d like someone to sit with you for the first time, feel free to contact us:   (304) 722-4677.  It’s often hard to be new, regardless of the situation, but we will do our  level best to make you feel at home.

Where would I fit in?

With adult Bible classes for seniors, married couples, single adults, college students, etc.; Sunday school classes for children and teenagers;  there is a place for you!

What about my child(ren)?

We provide first-class nurseries and child care for your newborn, baby or toddler.  Our nursery is open to youngsters up to three years old. They will be kept safe and well supervised. Our efficient nursery staff is prepared to notify parents if assistance is needed or an emergency occurs. Our nursery staff is well-trained and experienced; we are good at what we do.

Classes are also available for children four years old through 12th grade. These classes give them an opportunity to grow spiritually and learn vital biblical truths at a young age.

Do I have to participate?

No. Visitors aren’t required to participate in any way, though we invite you to sing out with the congregation if you wish!  If not, you can simply sit back and enjoy the service.

Will I be asked to give money?

No. If you’re new here and checking things out, we want you to experience the service simply as our guest.  We’re not about getting your money.  The offering is a time for those who consider Twin City Bible Church their church home.   Don’t worry – no one will be watching to see if you give.

Singing and special music

Every service gives you an opportunity to join us in singing hymns and spiritual songs. Our singing is traditional in nature.  We believe Scripture teaches us to sing in reverence and joy unto the Lord. (I Cor. 14:15) We believe in having a church service with uplifting hymns and spiritual songs that will stir and inspire you. Most of the congregational music is sung from hymnals though we occasionally sing some choruses projected on the wall. We have ensembles, a large choir, singing groups, soloists and orchestra specials throughout the services.

Prayer

We are a church that believes in prayer. Throughout the service prayer is led by the men of the church. Some of these prayers deal with the needs and requests of our church family and friends, while others simply praise and thank God for who He is and His goodness and faithfulness toward us.

Preaching

We consider the preaching of the Word of God to be the most important time of the service. The preaching is generally expository.  That means the preaching is from a specific passage of Scripture and is covered verse by verse.  This way we ensure that what is proclaimed from our pulpit is the truth of the Word of God and not merely our opinion. I Corinthians 1:21 reads, “…it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” We believe that the Bible has all the answers to all the problems in life.  God has chosen to speak today exclusively through the Scriptures and that proclamation comes from preaching.  Our pastor’s sermon outline is generally projected in the front so that we can easily follow along and many even take sermon notes.

Invitation

At the end of the preaching, our Pastor will ask everyone to stand and will give an invitation.  It is our “call to action”.  This is a time for many to respond and make a life-change.   It may be  repentance unto new life in Jesus Christ as personal Savior or to deal with personal change in progressive sanctification. However the Holy Spirit is dealing with you, the altar is open to join others who will make a life-change in Christ.

Sunday Bible Classes – 9:30 a.m.

During this time adults can choose from several adult Bible classes to attend. These classes vary in size and focus. Adult Bible classes and Sunday school classes meet from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m., right before the main preaching service. This is the perfect opportunity for you and your family to meet other fellow believers and learn great Bible truths.

Sunday Morning and Evening Services – 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Every Sunday morning and Sunday evening, the main Sunday preaching service is held in the Main Auditorium with Pastor Scott Bandy preaching. As you walk in, a friendly usher will greet you and be available to help you find a seat and answer any questions you may have.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study – 7:00 p.m.

The Wednesday evening Bible study takes place every week at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. This is a time during the week when the church family gathers to listen and be taught practical, relevant truths from the Bible taught by Pastors Scott & Ray. You will learn truths that will help you in the areas of prayer, marriage, child rearing, relationships, and more!
